NIC Karachi selects 37 startups for its 7th cohort from over 400 applications

The Ministry of IT & Telecom through Ignite – National Technology Fund established the National Incubation Center Program to promote and aid new businesses. National Incubation Center, Karachi is one of the 5 centers created as a part of this project has so far incubated more than 130 startups.

Every year, NICK conducts a competitive induction process where startups from all across Pakistan and around the globe apply to be a part of the NICK community.

This year, for its 7th Cohort, NICK received 422 applications from 9 countries, 25 cities and 22 verticals for the 7th cohort. Their focuses ranged from delivering fresh produce to building an E-learning platform and much more.

After a series of gruelling pitching rounds, where 132 startups dueled to impress a panel of expert judges, and a select number of startups were chosen to take part in the Director’s Cut. In the Director’s Cut, the startups met with NICK Project Director, Omar Abedin, in hopes of impressing him with their commitment and ingenuity. At the end of the process, 37 startups were chosen to be a part of the NICK’s 7th Cohort. These startups include;
