National Incubation Center, Karachi’s Graduation 2020

National Incubation Center (NIC), Karachi held its second startup graduation ceremony on the 24th of August, 2020. 19 startups that were incubated in cohorts 2 and 3 at NIC Karachi made the graduation walk. Over the course of their incubation, these startups took part in programmes and activities to enable them to grow as businesses and network with potential investors and industry experts from both the public and private sector.

The guests at the event included Syed Amin Ul Haque, Federal Minister, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Syed Junaid Imam, CEO, Ignite, Atif Rais Khan, CEO, LMKT and Shahjahan Chaudhary, Project Director, NIC Karachi.

Federal Minister, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Syed Amin Ul Haque in his address stressed the importance of supporting young entrepreneurs and small businesses to help unlock Pakistan’s economic potential.

CEO, Ignite, Syed Junaid Imam reiterated the minister’s statement by highlighting the role that National Incubation Centers play in promoting entrepreneurship across the country.

Along with a congratulatory note CEO, LMKT, Atif Rais Khan mentioned the achievements of the previous batch of graduating NIC Karachi startups and encouraged the current outgoing batch to aim for similar heights.

NIC Karachi is an Ignite – National Technology Fund funded project that is managed and operated by LMKT in collaboration with PTCL, HBL, PPAF and NED University. The aim of the project is to facilitate and train aspiring entrepreneurs and startups from across Sindh through various programme offerings and events.

Shahjahan Chaudhary, Project Director, NIC Karachi emphasized the importance of collaboration between stakeholders to enable more young entrepreneurs to take on the startup journey.
